Each smelled moldy. Eventually the smell went away. One of the four had a zipper breakdown. Given the ease with which it broke, I wouldn't call it "sturdy." The plastic window is an excellent feature. However, the bag really needs an insert for stability. Other makers provide a canvas-covered insert in their products to provide a rigid bottom. Without this, sliding this under a bed that is on top of carpet is difficult. The bag tends to bind on the carpet, bunch up, and wedge itself between the floor and bed bottom. Yet they do stack very well, say in a closet, and the window lets you know what's in them. Overall, they're not bad storage, but better as stackers than under-bed sliders. They hold a lot. Right now one's storing about eight queen-size sheet sets. Another holds all my purses and bags. And a third stores my off-season shoes so they won't gather dust in the closet. 2. The clear top is a must. I hate having to excavate boxes to find that one elusive item. It's especially useful because the chests are shallow -- so you can see EVERYTHING. 3. For what I'm storing, the soft structure works well. Obviously, I won't be putting tool sets and books in these chests, but for someone with lots of fabric items (off-season clothes, costumes, quilting and bedding), these are perfect. 4. I have hardwood floors and raised beds, so not only do they slide out easily but I can even stack them and slide them out. 5. And with the 4-for-3 deal and Prime shipping ... you can't beat $7.50. *One cautionary note: I don't think the zipper will hold up to a ton of use... They are convenient, but don't over pack it. Pack only what you use RARELY. I put some stuff I only need in the winter and vice-versa. 2 things sold me on this item, the clear top, for seeing in without opening, and the canvas, to squish under bed and fold when not in use. If you don't overpack then you won't break it. |
