I've installed these before, you definitely need a helper to get the hang track level, but from there, I've finished it by myself. It usually takes me 2-3 hours per closet. My closet is 7 1/2 feet long and was packed from one end to the other, so you can imagine how many clothes I have. I purchased this off amazon instead of @ a store because one of the reviews commented it had more pieces than similarly priced systems at the stores. When I received the package it was missing all the hardware (screws, anchors, drywall anchors, etc). I called amazon who said told me they would be happy to replace the product but instructed me to instead first try calling closet maid to see if they would ship me the missing items, which they did.This is the first closet system I ever purchased, installed or used. I consider myself fairly handy, and for anyone who does basic handy work, installing this alone would take you about 3 hours with right tools. Builder had provided only one shelf on the top. We found it easy to install, it may be a half day to 3/4 day project. May have to cut one of the hang track with a saw which is metal. Lowes cuts the shelfs for free. Depending on the amount of stuff you may put on the rack, you might want buy extra shelftracks for support. I used it in a office and had alot of craft stuff. Overall, a great diy project and a bit heavy. |
